“The Missing Book” is an interactive e-book project, that I’ve started as a student. It is my original idea to combine the art of the book and the animation, so that the illustrations actually live inside a book. I thought that an electronic book, based on a principal of a simple computer game (click and go) would suite this purpose. Ilja Kutuzov has wrote a beautiful poem, using the form of a Crown of Sonnets, for this idea and we have come up with a great script. After 5 months of intensive work I have produced the book with 3 songs out of 15 that where planned. The illustrations and the text live and interact with each other along the pages.
Unfortunately, this project is stuck in it’s “pilot” version, due to lack of a budget. I am trying to find a way to continue it. The pilot version of “The Missing Book” has won already 2 prizes - for best student film and for best graduation final project, and was shown at number of festivals, and appreciated by many professionals and amateurs.
The interactive version is readable and clickable on a computer screen (available for download below). The video above is a pilot version converted into an animated film for viewing purposes.
